A vision for the next five years 2010-2015
- Astley Abbotts is a small parish on the outskirts of Bridgnorth.
- The Parish has several small communities, Astley Abbotts, Cross Lane Head, Colemore Green, Cantreyn, Linley Brook, Nordley and Nordley Common.
- There is a Church St Claxitus in Astley Abbotts, a village hall in Cross Lane Head and a pub The Pheasant at Linley Brook.
- There is no shop or post office or school in the Parish.
- The B4373 Bridgnorth to Broseley Road goes through the centre of the Parish.
- There is a network of Bridleways and footpaths criss crossing the farmland in the Parish.
- The community’s economy is dominated by agriculture with a number of farms varying in size. There is a fishing pool complex at Colemore Green. Some residents run businesses from home.
- There is no social housing in the Parish. However there are a number of private landlord rented properties.

A Questionnaire was sent to every household in the spring of 2009 and was independently analysed by the Community Council of Shropshire. A full copy of this analysis and the individual comments made during the process are available from the Parish Clerk Mrs. Jayne Madeley. As a result of the results of the questionnaire the action plan has been agreed by the Parish Council and a small steering group has agreed.
